Project Manager - Site Projects North Sea & Angola

Job Profile SummaryThe Project Manager – Site Projects will be responsible as part of an integrated team for all aspects of design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of projects in the range of $0.1m to $20m. These projects will be delivered in a brownfield environment on a combination of fixed platforms and Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSOs) facilities. Typically, these facilities consist of reception facilities, separation processes, compression, dehydration, power generation and marine systems. These projects are created and delivered to implement a change delivering a business value to ongoing operations that will either be: risk reducing, maintaining our license to operate or delivering an incremental production benefit.In this position, you will be responsible for working with the front-end team to define projects in appraise and select combined with working with the incumbent Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contractor to deliver projects through define, execute and into operate realizing the project objectives. You will ensure projects are integrated into the overall Asset Operations, maintenance, and construction plan, with risk identified and managed accordingly. The role encompasses budget responsibility for the projects assigned.Job AdvertAbout the role:Some of your key accountabilities will include:Safely executing projects ensuring value proposition is delivered and lessons are learned and shared with the wider community as part of the project closure process.Managing a portfolio of projects at different stages of the project life cycle in accordance with the bp Site Projects project management process.Preparing detailed Project Execution Plans (including scope, schedule, budget and spend forecasts) for individual projects up to a value of $20m (Total Installed Cost)Collaborating with the incumber EPC to deliver projects from define through to operate and subsequent close out.Ensuring the principles of inherently safe design are incorporated into the overall design to meet the project intent.Delivering the project in a live brownfield operating environment, considering the impact to ongoing operations.Integrating the project into bp scheduling and control of work systems ensuring safe and efficient execution of activity.Safely implementing change through bp’s Management of Change process.Implementing a policy of no change during the execute phase of the project supporting safe and predictable delivery.Taking ownership for and carrying out self-verification on the readiness of projects to be delivered offshore, seeking to minimize risk and where not possible highlighting, and putting in place mitigation plans.Seeking opportunities to deliver projects in a more efficient manner through the application of agile working practices and deployment of technology.Contributing to the overall EPC contractor performance assurance process in a collaborative and progressive manner.About you:In order to be successful, you will hold Bachelor degree (or higher) in engineering / science / project management. Alternatively, you will have significant experience in a high hazard hydrocarbon industry with a trade background combined with experience of delivering brown or green field projects.In addition, it is important that you can also demonstrate:Experience delivering brownfield projects in a high hazard hydrocarbon processing environment.Experience of working in an EPC Contractor environment.Experience of hydrocarbon processing facilities – separation, compression, dehydration, power generation, marine systems, electrical and control systems.Experience of planning and scheduling and integration into a brownfield environment.Ability to work in a team environment in a collaborative, respectful and progressive manner.Ability to communicate and influence a wide audience covering senior leaders to techniciansAdditional experience / knowledge of the following would also be beneficial:Formal project management training either PMP or APM certificationLead project/portfolio manager of projects of an individual TIC of $20m and a combined portfolio of $100mExperience of Process Hazard Analysis methods including HAZOP, LOPA, FMEA and what if hazard assessment processes.Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards.Knowledge of project controls, contractor management, management of change, scope and cost estimates encompassing forecasting.Knowledge of construction, commissioning, TAR’s, and Outages.Why join our team?We support our people to learn and grow in a diverse and challenging environment.
