External Reporting Accountant

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Duration: 6 months

Description:

The accountant plays a major role in the preparation of the financial statements, tax returns and statistical reporting. They must work closely with the country experts to prepare all the computations, journals and analysis required to translate the US books into the locally compliant reporting. Flexibility is key as each team member will work across multiple countries to meet the many different deadlines.

Desired skills:

  • Accounting qualifications (e.g. CIMA or ACCA) would be beneficial but are not specifically required provided the individual has good experience
  • SAP experience
  • Previous experience in preparation of the financial statements, tax returns and statistical reporting

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting - Good base of accounting knowledge is required to understand multiple accounting business cases.
  • Operates with Discipline - Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and track progress of self and others to ensure delivery of external reporting in line with strict reporting deadlines.
  • Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively across a breadth of internal customers in the company as well as auditors.
  • Innovates and Reapplies - Proven track record in process standardisation and simplification is a key requirement.
  • Capability Building - the individual must have an enthusiasm to learn and build their skills. They will be required to work on different accounting requirements in multiple countries.
