Calibration Engineer

Manpower UK are working in partnership with ORE Catapult to recruit a Calibration Engineer

The Client

Key Responsibilities

To collaborate with Test & Validation Management Team to deliver a calibration management system action plan which builds upon our current processes and procedures.

To establish a Calibration Management System which can provide the functionalities of tracking calibrated items in an auditable fashion

To create and develop simple to understand metrics which cater to all users of the calibrated instruments

To develop uncertainty budgets and traceability trees to support test performance and accreditation requirements;

To ensure that mandatory and legislative QH&S/HS&E aspects of work are implemented at all times

To support process improvement and functional development

To providing on the job training and mentoring at all levels as and when required

To undertake dimensional calibration inspections, measurements properly to the correct procedures, instructions and specifications.

You will also maintain relevant records of work, data and results in a traceable and auditable manner employing user-friendly solutions which cater to all users

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes

Educated to at least degree level in a relevant discipline

Knowledge and experience of applying good practice engineering design, procedures and tools

Excellent mathematical / analytical skills

Experience of calibration and certification requirements and processes

Demonstrable engineering experience in testing and numerical processing

Excellent IT Skills; knowledge of numerical data processing packages such as Excel, Diadem, R, SQL or MATLAB

Previous experience of supporting and / or promoting Health & Safety, Environment & Quality as core business principles within an ISO 45001, ISO14001, ISO9001, ISO17025 environment

Highly numeric, solution oriented
